What is REBOUND Soil Amendment?
REBOUND Soil Amendment is a patented product consisting of a mixture of crumb rubber and compost. This material is rototilled into the soil to improve the soil by increasing porosity and reducing compaction. The patent (# 5014462 & 5020936) is held by American Rubber Technologies and REBOUND Soil Amendment has been researched by Dr. Kent Kurtz, California State Polytechnic University and Bob Malmgren, Denver, Colorado. The size of the crumb rubber is 1/4 - 3/8 inch.
What does REBOUND Soil Amendment do?
REBOUND Soil Amendment radically reduces soil compaction in heavy trafficked areas of turf. REBOUND promotes an earlier turf, improves root penetration, increases root density, creates a healthier more resilient root system, improves percolation resulting in lowered water requirements, reduces sport injuries and reduces maintenance costs.
Where to apply REBOUND Soil Amendment?
REBOUND Soil Amendment is rototilled into any soil type where turf grows. Any turfgrass area that has soil compaction problems such as: athletic fields, cart paths, walkways, back yards, etc.
How to Install REBOUND Soil Amendment!
First, remove or kill or existing grass. Second, rototill the area to break up the soil. Install the REBOUND Soil Amendment onto the surface, then rototill the area continuously until a homogeneous mixture of soil and REBOUND has been established to a depth of 6-8 inches. Check with a shovel to confirm mixture is uniform throughout the entire 6-8 inch depth. Allow roots to become firmly established before permitting traffic, about 8-10 weeks.
